Abstract
This article draws attention to the inconsistency between the possibilities of the national education system in Ukraine and the life needs of an adult personality at the present stage of development of the civilization. A certain tendency is observed in the decline of the popularity of higher education and the possibilities of its implementation in further professional life. The article focuses on the contradictions between the education model of the industrial age and the demands of today’s world. We have summarized the experience and modern approaches of some business schools and researchers in the USA on how adults can adapt to the challenges of our time. We offer the views of foreign authors on the ways of transforming teaching adults. Special attention is given to the integrity of the issue which is to bring in line the possibilities of developing the life skills of an adult taking into consideration the prospects. We have considered the international experience of the personality development through developing the individual components of their intellectual abilities (physical, emotional, spiritual and mental).
