Abstract

The problem of health-saving use of ICT in education is the subject of attention and concern of many Ukrainian and foreign scientists, theorists and practitioners of education. Since work on the computer is associated with increased mental stress, neuro-emotional and visual tension, this problem becomes especially urgent in the conditions of intensive use of the latest tools for younger generations. The use of ICT without regard to sanitary requirements, the creation of appropriate ergonomic-pedagogical and psycho-pedagogical conditions can adversely affect the health of children and adolescents: from rapid fatigue to serious systemic disorders. One of the ways to overcome this problem is seen by the authors in the development of the appropriate competence of students, the formation of a set of knowledge, skills and habits of health-saving use of ICT. In the manual, a complex of issues related to health-saving use of ICT (mainly their hardware component) in the general school is considered. The method of formation of a health-saving component of the students' ICT-competence, which can be used in modern general educational institutions is offered. The manual may be useful for general school teachers, heads of general education institutions, teacher training, for all who are interested in deepening and disseminating knowledge about the health-saving use of ICT in working with students of the general school.
