Abstract

The paper is devoted to investigation of university mission at spatial intersection. During Late Middle Ages universities were established as international social institutions, but later, with the origin of nation states, they became the centre of producing the discourse of national culture. University in contemporary world returns to its initial international character, because it mediates the global approaches, tendencies and technologies. To find the optimal balance between national and international in its mission is one of the main goals of the universities of the XXI century.
