Abstract

The article contains an analysis of pedagogical activity on creating motiva-tion for military service in foreign countries. The experience of the USA, China, Israel, Russia and Belarus as countries with the most combat-capable armies is considered. Different states continue their search for the corresponding forms, methods and content of information to increase the authority of the army, positive image of the soldier and military service. The formation of motivation of a recruit on a contract basis has its negative and positive sides. The negative side is that the 31 material interest becomes the main motive of the recruit, and not patriotic factor. The positive side of such a contract is manifested in the fact that a recruit has cer-tain social guarantees and receives qualitative military training. Forming recruit motivation without social guarantees reduces the efficiency of military training. The problem of forming positive attitude towards the army is urgent and can be solved only with help of society and social institutes. In differеnt countries, young people are attracted to serve in the military forces through social, pedagogical, psychological, legal and other methods of influence and education. The positive aspects of some contries’ experience that are acceptable for use in domestic prac-tice are highlighted.
