Abstract

The study of the psychological well-being of students poses the task of building a coherent structure in understanding the phenomenon and clarifying its conceptual apparatus, which has an inconsistent character and discursive expression in scientific research. Through a theoretical analysis of foreign and domestic scientific sources regarding the psychological well-being of the individual made it possible to determine its structural components by summarizing a wide range of variables operationalized within hedonistic and eudaemonic concepts. This article is devoted to the conceptualization and constructive reflection of the student's well-being as a phenomenon of psychological science. The presented scientific study introduces a conceptual model of the social and psychological well-being of a schoolchild. The content of its objective (contextual) and subjective components is substantiated. Objective measurements are determined by tangible and intangible indicators of the quality of life of students in the conditions of the educational environment. Subjective dimensions are operationalized by psychological indicators that reflect the individual, intrapersonal aspect of the student's well-being: the satisfaction of psychological needs regarding personal development, the success of social functioning in the educational environment, the cognitive-affective assessment of the conditions for obtaining an education. By developing and substantiating a model of socio-psychological well-being of schoolchildren, the integration of the concept of psychological well-being into the school learning system provides access to a deeper understanding of this phenomenon within the scientific community. This, in turn, fosters the emergence of new research initiatives aimed at studying the well-being of students in schools. Furthermore, we will emphasize the significance of this subject by focusing on its practical implications. The social and psychological well-being of students within the "family-school" system is a topic that involves mutual influence and its improvement is a critical requirement for enhancing the family’s role in education reform.
