Abstract

The urgency of the problem is determined by the global dynamics of the growth of suicides and the need for special attention to the suicidal tendency of a person with weapons (military personnel, combatants, veterans), especially in the context of media effects during a hybrid war. It is reported about analysis of the dynamics of the development of explanatory models of influencing the coverage by traditional media (press and television) the suicide cases and they impact on vulnerable audience over the 40-year period from the 1980's to the present. Different methods of proving the influence are considered - from the early statistical procedures of correlation analysis to experiments of various design and longitudinal cohort studies. The historical periods in the subject matter and key models explaining the impact of "media suicide" on the audience at different times are singled out. An estimation of the conformity of explanatory models (suggestive-imitation, media cover, identification, multi-factor) is realized for the analysis of the situation with suicides in Ukraine. A cumulative model was proposed and implemented for analyzing the situation of the media suicide impact in the context of the war on the dynamics of suicides of the most vulnerable category of adolescents over the past 5 years. It was proposed on the based of secondary analysis of official data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on mortality due to self-harm. It is found the most vulnerable category of boys aged 10-15, which can be considered as the most affected by the media hype about "deadly quests" in 2017. The conceptual model of media literacy as a factor supporting the psychological well-being of the individual and confronting the development of a suicidal tendency in a hybrid warfare is outlined. The limitations and prospects for further research, tasks for the improvement of the system of prevention of suicides in Ukraine are discussed.
