Abstract

Sustainable development defines education for sustainable development (ESD) as the ability of modern society to meet its needs without impairing the ability of future generations to meet their needs. ESD is the focus of many countries, including European ones, as an important aspect of education. In the European Union (EU), school curricula for sustainable development usually take into account the goals and principles of sustainable development, such as social justice, economic efficiency and environmental sustainability.
