Abstract

Methodological recommendations are devoted to the issue of emergency psychological assistance in wartime conditions. Based on the polyvagal theory of Stephen Porges, the types of response to stress and trauma, states that require urgent psychological help, are described. An algorithm for emergency psychological assistance in case of acute reactions to stress is proposed. Methodological recommendations were prepared based on the analysis of literary sources, materials of trainings and educational seminars, and personal experience of the author as a psychologist in the ATO zone in 2014–2015 and with representatives of various categories of the affected population on the GPNow online telemedicine platform in 2022–2023. Methodological recommendations are designed for use by practical psychologists, in particular psychologists of educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, as well as all those interested in the issue of self-regulation and the provision of psychological assistance in conditions of war.
