Abstract

The article analyzes the compliance of the labor market requirements with the list of professions and specialties that can be acquired in educational institutions of the city of Striy (Lviv region). The formation of professional competencies of specialists in accordance with the requirements of the labor market in the city of Stryi, Lviv region, is an important aspect of workforce development for the needs of the modern labor market. For this, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the local labor market and the needs of various sectors of the economy. During the research, steps were taken to form professional competencies, which include: labor market analysis - studying the needs of the labor market in the city of Stryi, its specifics, highlighting key sectors of the economy and professions that are most in demand; cooperation with employers - it is important to maintain contact with companies and enterprises of the city in order to understand their expectations from employees and to ensure that training programs correspond to the needs of the labor market; adaptation of educational programs – educational programs in higher education institutions or educational centers must be updated in accordance with the needs of the labor market. This includes the introduction of new subjects, practical classes, internships or courses on the use of modern technologies; development of soft skills – in addition to technical knowledge, it is important to develop communication, creative and leadership skills, as they are becoming more and more important for the work process; supporting internships and internships – providing opportunities for students and young professionals to gain practical experience in city companies is key to their successful integration into the labor market; constant updating - the labor market is constantly changing, so it is important to constantly update training programs and learning approaches so that they meet current requirements. All of these listed steps will help to create a basis for the formation of competent specialists who will be ready to work effectively in the local labor market in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. It was concluded that the city has created significant opportunities for the formation and development of professional competencies of specialists in various professions and specialties. The application of these competencies is possible in the process of professional self-development in numerous state, communal and private enterprises, organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership, which offer applicants about 0.5 thousand vacancies. It is possible to acquire professions and specialties that are in demand in the city's labor market in institutions of professional (vocational and technical), professional pre-higher education.
