Abstract
The analysis of the conceptual apparatus on the problem of transformations in education by domestic scientists-pedagogues was carried out and the essential features of the studied definitions were highlighted: transformation, reformation, modernization. The ways of synchronizing national professional education with the standards of leading foreign countries in connection with obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership have been revealed. The main strategic directions for mines in the labor market and in the education and science system of Ukraine have been determined: technological renewal of industry, strengthening of the scientific system, reform of professional education, activation of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
