Abstract

Information on automated library information systems was analyzed. It was determined that the automation of the library and information process, systems and networks is a complex problem, the solution of which will ensure an increase in the productivity and efficiency of the work of the staff and an improvement in the quality of user service. The most famous systems that are popular in the Ukrainian library segment are considered. The main purpose of ABIS is to replace traditional library technologies with automated ones, which enables processing, analytical and synthetic processing and presentation to users of the library's document collection (both traditional (paper) and electronic information resources), maintenance of library collections at all stages - from acquisition to order . The use of automated library information systems requires clarification of the range of professional tasks. Of the mentioned tasks, the most priority is the replacement of traditional library technologies with automated ones, starting with collection and ending with providing user service.
