Abstract

Introduction. Mental health crisis counseling is an important students' stress resistance development factor. Aim: to analyze psychological counseling techniques and their effectiveness in training students at vocational education institutions. Methods. Techniques used in psychological counseling of vocational students: interviews, content reflecting (paraphrasing and generalizing), silent pauses, emotions reflecting, interpretation, and confrontation. Results. The concept of counseling is revealed. The psychological counseling techniques used in counseling vocational education students are analyzed. The described psychological counseling techniques are the key tools used by psychologists-counselors. Conclusions. It has been proven that the described psychological counseling techniques are effective means to improve vocational institution students' emotional and psychological conditions, academic performance as well as to cope with students' life crises.
