Abstract
The encyclopedic article describes bullying as a socio-psychological phenomenon (baiting), that characterizes destructive interaction aimed at conscious violence against the weaker, unable to defend themselves; determines the causes and mechanisms of its development, the main varieties and means of perpetration, characteristics of bullies and victims, ways of prevention in educational institutions in foreign experience and in Ukraine.
