Abstract

Reforming education in Ukraine is part of the processes of updating educational systems that have been taking place for the past twenty years in European countries and are associated with the recognition of the importance of knowledge as a driver of social well-being and progress. These changes relate to the creation of new educational standards, updating and revision of educational programs, content of educational and didactic materials, textbooks, forms and methods of education. Purposeful acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities by young people, their transformation into competence contributes to personal cultural development, development of technologies, ability to quickly respond to the demands of the times. European countries today started a thorough discussion about how to equip people with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure their harmonious interaction with a rapidly developing technological society. That is why it is important to understand the concept of competence in a knowledge-based society. It is important to understand exactly which competencies need to be taught and how, what should be the result of training.
