Abstract

The relevance of the practical manual "Media-psychological resources for overcoming the trauma of war" is due to such realities as the military conflict in the east of Ukraine, and the urgent need to expand the practical toolkit of psychological support for combatants, which would stimulate them to solve their own problems and increase their social adaptability. In particular, effective methods of psychological and mental support for combatants and their family members to overcome war trauma are offered. The idea of the resourcefulness of media psychology in the process of psychological recovery of the traumatized is put forward. This is a wide application of various media content, as well as the use of various technologies: prevention of destructive informational influences of the media; psychological enlightenment mediated by visual material; self-recovery and increase in social adaptability using the "Mediaclub" method. Special attention in work on overcoming trauma is paid to special forms of organization of groups of both combatants and members of their families. It is addressed to psychologists, military psychologists, officers of moral and psychological support structures, deputy commanders for work with personnel, chaplains, social pedagogues and workers, volunteer psychologists.
