Abstract

The reforms currently underway in Ukrainian education are touching on its fundamental foundations. They need to reconsider the entire system of methodological and psychological support for education. Psychological follow-up for educational reform should ensure the activities of the psychological service. Much of the methods used in the work of applied psychologists and social educators need to be recognized as culturally determined. Many underlying conditions for solving the problem of correlation of national and international at the level of the methodology of applied psychology and psychological practice are defined. In the context of the problem analyzed in the article, the graduate’s personality should be shaped by both universal human traits and qualities, as well as original national and individual uniqueness. Thus, the methodology of formation and development of the growing personality should contain both universal and national-specific methods, techniques and technologies. The author notes that the problem of the ratio of national and international is one of the acute problems of applied psychology and psychological practice. The main problem of unsystematic application of methods and techniques of psychological practice is to determine the “blurring” or uncertainty of methodological principles in modern Ukrainian applied psychology, the absence or eclecticism of the methodological position of the psychologist. The root of the problem is still at the level of professional training in higher education. Also, the lack of methods for verified assessment of the effectiveness of psychological correction calls into question the very possibility of determining the level of professional training and certification. Indicative is the problem of translation of classical psychological textbooks, monographs.
