Abstract
It is argued that the pedagogical matrix of Ukraine is a spiritual space within which Ukrainian education and pedagogical thought are located and develop. It is emphasised that this spiritual and educational space has its own educational authorities, whose legacy is constantly being addressed. The pedagogical heritage of such educational authorities as Sofia Rusova, Hryhorii Vashchenko, Mykhailo Kravchuk, Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi, Kostiantyna Malytska, Myroslav Stelmakhovych, Hryhorii Skovoroda is briefly highlighted.
