Abstract

In the workbook, the author has developed tasks, theoretical and practical material for conducting classes through mixed, distance or full-time education for students majoring in 172 - Telecommunications and Radio Engineering in the subject "Switching and Information Distribution Systems". The issues of interconnection of primary and secondary telecommunication networks are considered. The characteristics of information and telecommunication networks and methods of switching are described. The characteristics and principles of organisation of telephone networks and different types of stations: analogue and digital are considered. The principles of functioning of the integrated service network and synchronous transmission modes are presented. The basic principles of communication using the ATM technology are presented. The workbook is intended for students studying in the speciality 172 - Telecommunications and Radio Engineering, and can be useful for students of all forms of education.
