Abstract

This advisor is designed to help Ukrainians who are readers of text publications in modern print and electronic media. Some of the users of modern mass media may face the threat of losing their criticality, becoming a controlled, uninitiative person, dependent on the opinion of authority, easily "swallowing the bait" regarding, say, rapid positive changes in society, the country, and in own lives. These tips are intended for anyone who intends to independently resist possible manipulations in the texts of any information sources. The purpose of the book is to help Ukrainians discover and strengthen their own strength, personal power, intelligence and caution in consuming any text product. This book can be useful for psychologists, teachers, parents who provide assistance to children and youth, and those citizens who need psychological help on issues such as: how to identify possible manipulations through textual materials, how to react to them, how to resist explicit or implicit threats, protecting oneself, one's own views and beliefs from the destructive influence of media texts.
