Abstract

The work analyzes V. Vakhterov's ideas for development autonomy and independence of extracurricular education today. The author reveals the historical and cultural aspects that contributed to the development of public education population, cites the opinion of a prominent scientist regarding autonomy in the management of educational institutions. A special place in the article is the study of the role of the teacher, who must be a free citizen and educate free citizens by his own example.
