Abstract

The article considers the peculiarities of using applied problems in computer science lessons in a gymnasium, with the aim of strengthening the applied orientation of the subject. The applied orientation is aimed at improving the quality of students' natural and mathematical education by applying their knowledge of computer science to solving tasks of everyday life and further professional activities. The use of applied computer science problems in the learning process is the main content of the applied orientation of the school computer science course. The article notes the methodological features of building a system of problems with applied content, which are the most significant. Applied tasks are considered from the point of view of their role in the educational process, content, and other functions. The article substantiates the necessity of using applied problems in computer science in a gymnasium, and determines the types and requirements of applied problems. Tasks of applied content provide an opportunity to implement general didactic principles in the process of learning computer science. Applied problems can be used for various didactic purposes, such as motivating students, developing their mental activity, and explaining the relationship between computer science and other disciplines. Applied problems are practical problems that require certain skills, including skills in the use of information and communication technologies. The article examines three main functions of applied tasks: educational, training, and developmental. During the teaching of computer science in a gymnasium, the teacher must emphasize the role of problems and allocate considerable time for their consideration. The topics of algorithmization, programming, and problem-solving with the help of a computer play a big role in solving problems of an applied nature.
