Abstract

To date, in modern psychology and medicine, the issue of preserving human health and finding the factors that determine it is acute. Health is an indicator of the well-being of the country, as well as an important factor that affects the resource potential of society. Health psychology is a new interdisciplinary science that is rapidly developing. The relevance of this issue necessitated the creation of the first textbook on the psychology of human health in Ukraine. The scientific manual reveals the theoretical-methodological, organizational-methodical foundations of psychology, it defines the main factors influencing psychological health, highlights the concepts of bioethics, psychohygiene and psychoprophylaxis. It widely uses the assets of modern psychology from various fields and directions. The book emphasizes the need to spread a healthy lifestyle, as well as characterizes problems related to lifestyle and measures aimed at preserving health. The scientific manual outlines the general strategy of the concept of health, the essence of individual and population health, the concepts of mental norm and pathology, and an in-depth analysis of the concept of mental health is carried out. Psychological health disorders according to ICD-10, symptoms and signs of emotional and behavioral disorders, cruelty, self-harm, and professional deformity are also described. Important attention is paid to the age-related aspects of psychological health, psychological crises, the influence of psychosocial circumstances on the development of the psyche, the functioning of the family and its maladaptive forms. The current topic of the influence of ecology and the polluted environment on psychological health is highlighted, the concepts of endoecology and the principles of providing emergency psychological help are defined. A distinctive feature of the scientific manual is an in-depth analysis of the potential dangers of the microsociety for the individual, namely adverse life events, problems in relationships, inability to adapt to the environment, etc., as well as the influence of the meso- and microsocial environment on psychological health. An important addition to the chapters are the formalized structures of topics that will contribute to better formation of an in-depth understanding of the presented material. For students' independent work, problematic questions, alternative test tasks for self-control, tasks and problematic situations are added to each topic. At the end of each chapter, a list of basic and additional literature is provided for preparing for classes and deepening knowledge on this topic.
