Abstract

The work outlines strategic orientations and legislative initiatives regarding the development of key competencies in school education in the countries of the European Union. It was determined that the development of digital competences is a general trend for school education in the EU countries. It is noted that digital competence is becoming important not only for students, but also for teachers. It was concluded that most European countries have made significant progress in introducing key competencies into the content of national curricula.
