Abstract
Education is considered as a necessary element of ensuring economic development. The search for ways to use the appropriate potential of education is based on understanding the properties of the economic system within which it functions. The methodological basis of the study of educational determinants of economic development should be based on the establishment of systemic features of the unit of observation - the national macrosystem. This approach opens methodological coordinates for the study of education as a systemic factor.
