Abstract

The article provides a general analysis of pedagogical modeling as a method of pedagogical research and represents the main positions of pedagogical modeling application in theory and practice of civil security specialists’ advanced training. Approaches to the definition of the term “pedagogical modeling” are investigated as well. The pedagogical model of the civil security specialists’ professional competence development in the system of postgraduate education is offered. The elaborated model contains the following interrelated blocks: target, methodological, semantic, organizational and effective, diagnostic and resultative. The target block of the model reflects the purpose and objective of the civil security specialists’ professional competence development in the system of postgraduate education. The methodological block reveals the problem of development of professional competence taking into account the requirements of the scientific approaches (andragogical, acmeological, systemic, personal and effective, contextual) and principles of education. The content block consists of the following: the content of training and the selected successive stages (diagnostic and motivational, organizational and effective, resultative) of the process of the civil security specialists’ professional competence development in the system of postgraduate education. The organizational and effective block reflects the forms of the system of postgraduate education as well as the methods and means of teaching. The diagnostic and resultative block shows the success of the developed model and includes the following components: assessment methods, criteria and levels of the civil security specialists’ professional competence development in the system of postgraduate education. All components of the model are interdependent and only within the system provide the necessary civil security specialists’ professional competence development in the system of postgraduate education.
