Abstract

The article presents the empirical analysis of personal resources for hardiness. Psychological hardiness is a factor of self-regulation that mediates the impact of stressful factors on an individual’s mental health, psychological well-being and life quality. In this context, the psychological features and regularities of the basic parameters describing psychological hardiness are revealed; the role of personal resources contributing to the development of hardiness is revealed. We have determined that the personal resources for hardiness are related to such a psychodynamic category as a sense of self-worth, which determines an emotional experience existing in the attitude towards oneself and in interpersonal relationships, an experience of self-identity, a belief in one’s own abilities and trust in other people. The control over a stressful situation is ensured by cognitive abilities that reflect success in activities and compliance with social norms.
