Abstract

Modern realities have changed the profession and life of many people. Many of the workers in education, law, the service sector and other fields have become volunteers, helping people adapt in difficult situations (loss of housing, moving to safe places, with heating and feeding), support with a kind word and, sometimes, perform the functions of psychologists. But there is a small "but". As always happens. During such assistance, the victim and her rescuer encounter such psychological aspects as transference and countertransference or transference/countertransference. This is one of the most difficult points of psychoanalytic therapy and the key concepts of psychoanalysis as a theory. By the way a psychotherapist solves transference/countertransference problems, one can judge his professionalism and quality of work.
