Abstract

The article considers the problem of hardiness of the individual, namely its importance in the development and features of the manifestation of coping strategies of behavior. The special importance of the formation and development of these phenomena in the participants of the educational process is emphasized. In particular, emphasis is placed on the difficulties currently facing participants in the educational process, namely the consequences of quarantine restrictions caused by the crown viral pandemic, feelings of isolation, internal discomfort, feelings of isolation and general emotional stress caused by martial law. The article reveals the psychological meaning of the concept of coping behavioral strategies, presents their main types and mechanisms of manifestation. The main approaches to the interpretation of the peculiarities of the functioning of coping strategies are highlighted, as well as the main differences between coping strategies from the psychological protection of the individual. It is emphasized that a person who is capable of constructive coping behavior, usually has certain personal dispositions, which are associated with willpower, internal locus of control, focus on action, high resistance to stress, and most importantly the hardiness of the individual, which provides effective human adaptation, helps to cope with the situation, reduce or avoid stress, cope with it or protect yourself from stressful situations. Among the most effective coping strategies of behavior, the leading role is played by "positive interpretation", which provides the ability to give the situation a non-trivial meaning and most helps to change personal attitudes to it. It is determined that the effectiveness of their manifestation largely depends on the level of hardiness of the individual. The connection between the viability and the choice of coping strategies of the individual is proved, namely the results of an empirical study on the differences in the manifestation of coping strategies in people with different levels of hardiness. Thus, people with high hardiness are more prone to constructive problem solving, in particular to proactive coping strategies, namely the activation of internal resources to solve problems and achieve goals, which in turn ensures the process of personal growth. While people with low hardiness tend to use maladaptive coping behavior strategies.
