Abstract

The article examines the modern understanding of integration in education as the implementation of interdisciplinary, intra-branch and inter-branch integration of learning content. It is claimed that current educational challenges require scientists and practitioners to rethink what students should know and be able to do, how to form the child’s key competencies in education. It has been proven that an integrated or interdisciplinary curriculum is an effective and relevant method of competence-oriented education of students of the 21st century, which provides them with comprehensive knowledge and cross-cutting skills necessary for solving complex cognitive and life problems.
