Abstract
The essay focuses on the fact that when conducting experimental scientific research, problems of authorship of ideas, discoveries, and time priorities for their fixation may arise. It is also necessary to be attentive to the editorial work, to improve the standards of evaluation of publications on the topic of artificial intelligence. The author paid attention to the creation of "synthetic" texts by means of software using artificial intelligence. It is noted that "synthetic" texts can threaten the integrity of scientific literature. Only scientists with a high level of information competence can give an in-depth answer to the question about academic writing: "plagiarism or technical progress by means of artificial intelligence." Therefore, the issue of developing the information competence of scientists is currently the most urgent.
