Abstract

The author's version of periodization (due to the short duration of isolated aspects of the history of school education development in sovereign Ukraine, the term "stages" is used, not "periods") of reform processes in the field of secondary general education of Ukraine (1991-2018) is outlined. Three stages are singled out and characterized: the beginning of the creation of the national Ukrainian school (1991-1998); reforming general secondary education not only in the direction of nation-building, but also in the spirit of the state strategy of European integration (1999-2013); radical and renewing reform of the field of secondary general education, the stage is ongoing (2014-present).
