Abstract

The article substantiates the best foreign experience in the implementation of institutional policies for the career development of research and teaching staff, in particular mentoring, branding and career coaching technologies. Foreign experience of such structural units shows the promotion of personal, professional, research development and realization of the potential of university academic staff, improvement of competences, formation of flexibility and motivation to study throughout the career trajectory. Emphasis is placed on the implementation of a distributed leadership model in the management of research at the university, based on the willingness of employees to take the initiative and be responsible, which invariably accompanies the role of the leader. It is stated that distributed leadership makes it possible to carry out qualitative research based on the interaction, collaboration and activity of researchers. The success of career development of research and teaching staff depends on the active use of innovative technologies, the integration of teaching and research activities, as well as expertise. The parameters (style, standards, and competence) and personal brand tools that are realized through the growth of financial well-being, satisfaction with activity, achievement of authority and recognition in the professional field, creation and realization of educational projects, business cases, as well as promotion self-esteem and self-respect have been analyzed. Career development involves the study of the psychological and professional qualities of academics in order to recruit and do competitive selection of the most competent applicants (personal qualities and abilities to a specific field of educational activity research, etc., correlation of values of higher education institution and employee's personality). It is stated that the career of a scientific-pedagogical employee of a higher education institution requires, first of all, an awareness of the goals, motivation and active actions of the specialist himself to professional and career development.
