Abstract

The role of museums in the modern socio-cultural space, which become centers of both formal and informal communication for all categories of the population and, especially, for children and youth, is analyzed. The peculiarities of the educational activity of museums at educational institutions, which have a huge potential for educational activities, are a kind of creative laboratories for personal education.The activity of museums at higher educational institutions, which are educational, research and cultural-educational structural subdivisions of higher education institutions, is characterized. The practice of creating museums in preschool institutions, which contribute to the acquaintance of children with the world around them in the museum environment, has been studied.
