Abstract

The monograph examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the development of the global higher education system and the responses of higher education systems and national governments to the challenges and threats posed by the spread of coronavirus infection. The new reality has given rise to transformational changes that are seriously challenging higher education institutions and will significantly change the global higher education system in the future. In the course of theoretical study of the educational process in higher education in Ukraine, the EU and the world in a pandemic, the problem areas of higher education in quarantine restrictions and social distancing, trends in the world higher education system in a destabilizing society by natural factors nature, new requirements for the effective provision of the educational process in a crisis situation, the reaction of world governments to new challenges. The monograph "Higher education in quarantine restrictions and social distancing" is the result of the project "Potential of higher education in a pandemic: global, European, national dimensions" (registration number: 2020.01 / 0172) of the National Research Fund of Ukraine funded by the state budget.
