Abstract

The practical guide was developed as part of the implementation of the component for the training of trainers of the project "Support to Judicial Reform in Ukraine through full-scale implementation of probation in Ukraine" NORLAU Probation Project. Training probation trainers is a long and complex process, which involves mastering knowledge about the peculiarities of adult learning, formation of planning skills, conducting and evaluating trainings, management of the training group and complex participants, as well as mastering the skills of thematic trainings (motivational counseling, preparation of a pre-trial report, work with risk assessment, etc.). This manual contains material on practical issues of organizing and conducting training work for probation staff. The material of the manual allows to form an idea of training as a form of training of probation staff, its structure, components, place and role of the trainer, features of training in the online format. Practical manual “Desktop book of coach on probation matters” is recommended for use in training trainers from among the probation staff, during the training of students of relevant qualifications, as well as for independent study by the staff of the probation and the state penitentiary service of Ukraine of the basics of training work.
