Abstract

The study outlines the transformation processes in education in the European Union. In particular, the emphasis is on modern challenges and ways to overcome them. The strategic tasks facing the education of the European Union countries have been identified, namely: further development of quality preschool education; promoting the acquisition by young people and adults of basic skills / key competencies for personal and professional development; improving the quality of education; active use of innovative technologies; ensuring the appropriate level of funding for education, infrastructure upgrades; training of highly qualified, motivated teachers, change agents; promoting inclusive education; promotion of European values. In today's globalized world, characterized by the rapid change of knowledge, ideas and technologies, it is necessary to develop lifelong learning skills and teach young people to effectively use the acquired knowledge.
