Abstract

The article is devoted to the review of the main aspects of the trajectory of the design of profile education of high school students in Ukraine (2011–2017). The tabular detailing of the main legislative programs and documents and their main provisions, which were developed and implemented at the state level in 2011–2017, is presented, such as: State standard of basic and complete general secondary education (2011); “The concept of profile education in high school” (2013); Decree of the President of Ukraine “On the National Strategy for the Development of Education in Ukraine until 2021” (2013); “Concept of the New Ukrainian School” (2016); updated version of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” (2017); “Draft Standard Curriculum for Grades 10–11” (2017); “Draft conceptual framework for reforming vocational education in Ukraine” Modern vocational education (2018) and others. An extensive description of the author's definition of the concept of “profile education” is given. It is proved that designing the content of profile education of high school students is based on: systemic, personality-oriented, complex, integrative, psychosocial, axiological, culturological, acmeological, competence, activity, synergetic, reflection, environmental, project-oriented approaches. that do not contradict each other. The study focused on the implementation of a competency-based and project-oriented approach, where the main in this regard is the design and development of innovative content for profile education of high school students in relevant specializations. Factors influencing the design of profile education for high school students are described. Perspective directions of modernization of general secondary education have been identified, which will contribute to the effective design of profile education of high school students.
