Abstract

The article states that in the issue of education for deaf people, Ukraine as a state should direct its vector to the developed countries of the world, which offer different models of education for deaf people. But at the same time the volume and quality of knowledge of the latter in accordance with the age periodization should not be distanced from the volume and quality of knowledge of other students. The state of providing deaf students with communicative needs in terms of providing sign support by sign language interpreters is revealed. It is noted that with the entry into force of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine on the implementation of inclusive education, the issue of involving relevant professionals in the educational school environment is open. Examples of providing translation services to deaf students in Canadian educational institutions at various levels of education are given. The state of provision of communicative needs of persons with hearing impairments who receive educational services in various educational institutions of Ukraine is highlighted. The historical aspect of the appearance in Ukraine of the first special groups in higher educational institutions is briefly disclosed. The table of the number of educational sign language interpreters in the universities of Ukraine, which provide sign translation of educational material in both special and inclusive groups for deaf students, is given. Quantitative and qualitative indicators of providing communicative needs in the field of education are presented and characterized. Emphasis is placed on professional training, educational level, certification to determine the level of sign communicative competence of sign language interpreters, which are listed in the staff list of the institution of higher education and the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf. An educational sign language translator is presented through the prism of its direct and additional functions. The latter are related to testing if it takes place in a higher education institution; with the open day of the educational institution; with the announcement of admission to the educational institution, which is carried out by the translator by telephone or by means of video communication with a detailed description of the conditions and requirements; with work in the admissions committee of the higher educational institution; with the official assignment of a certain educational translator for a group of freshmen; with the decision of a question of employment of the deaf graduate of establishment of higher school.
