Abstract

The article gives an analysis of the theory and practice of the development of senior pupils professional interest in system of pre-university training. Some features of the high school age influencing the development of pupils’ steady professional interest have been determined. The article presents the results of a survey based interviewing senior pupils regarding their awareness of their future professional practice as well as motivating factors for acquiring a degree in engineering. Correlation between the professional interest of pupils in engineering and the level of their physics and mathematics background has been established. The importance of mobile vocational guidance centres for the development of their professional interest has been characterized.
