Abstract
The theses reveal the competence dimension of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education (2020), characterize the competence-oriented teaching of history. The author emphasizes the importance of developing and implementing competency-oriented tasks, gives their examples. Emphasis is placed on the need to form in students a critical approach to historical facts and documents.
