Abstract
This paper considers principles of implementing a transdisciplinary, holistic approach in the system of textbooks, teaching aids in relation to the Concept for the Development of Natural and Mathematical Education (STEM education); possibilities of using experience of textbooks system of the model of education for sustainable development «Dovkillia» implementation are revealed. The peculiarities of the educational process of forming a scientific picture of the world, its personally significant component — a viable national image of the world of primary, secondary, profile school students, the role of systematic lessons in the environment during the study of all subjects are revealed. From the experience of experimental testing, the introduction of education for sustainable development revealed the role of the basic didactic principle of forming the content of educational areas, system of programs, textbooks that implement them, focusing on the role of cross-cutting patterns in this process. An attempt is made to prove that the problem of implementation in the system of domestic textbooks of the Concept of development of natural and mathematical education (STEM education), transdisciplinary approach to the implementation of the educational process in preschool, primary, basic, specialized school has already begun in the process of implementing the model «Dovkillia».
