Abstract

The article focuses on the art of paper cutting in the clubs of decorative and applied art in institutions of out-of-school education. Paper cutting is a powerful tool for the formation of spiritual values, national consciousness and patriotism; development of interest in fine arts, in particular, decorative and applied, education of respect for national and world culture, tolerant attitude towards traditions and art of other peoples and countries. The origins of paper cutting as a form of artistic creativity have traditionally been associated with ancient Chinese traditions of the art of paper-cutting. With all the similarities, the paper cutting of different localities and regions have distinctive features that are characteristic of a particular region, which is indicated in material, shapes, silhouettes, the richness of ornaments, symbolism, etc. Paper-cutting of different countries has different names: vytynanka (Ukraine), Jianzhi (China), karpiniai (Lithuania), vyrazanka, (Belarus), wycinanki (Poland), vygryanka (Slovakia), vystriganka (Russia), etc. The authors present the art of making paper cutting of different countries of the world (Mexico, China, Israel, etc.), reveal their symbolism and peculiarities of the manufacturing technology, illustrate material that allows you to visually compare different paper cutting, analyze their differences and similar features. The authors offer their educational program of out-of-school education of the artistic and aesthetic direction “Vytynanka” (“Paper Cutting”, approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine). The sequential stages of the implementation of colored paper based on Chinese paper cutting “Fish” for teenagers, who are members of club of decorative and applied arts of institution of out-of-school education, presented in the form of a technological card.
