Abstract
The content of the methodological recommendations covers current issues of development and upbringing of blind children and children with visual impairments in the family. The authors present the features of the development of blind children and children with visual impairments at an early age, cognitive development in preschool age, psychological support of crisis age periods in the development of children of this nosology. The question of early intervention in the psychosocial development of a child with visual impairment is raised, as it is known that visual deprivation has a negative effect on the child's development, disrupting its interaction with the outside world, and, accordingly, the earlier the child receives timely professional care . Note that the authors not only recommend starting learning spatial orientation at an early age, but also in the recommendations describe the features of the organization and offer didactic material that parents can use at home. Methodical recommendations "Education and development of a child with visual impairments" are recommended to practitioners and scientists, as well as applicants for the first, second and third levels of higher education.
