Abstract

Russifi cation appears as a obligate result of the totalitarian practices of the Soviet Union, which lead to the aggravation of Russia’s colonial policy towards Ukraine over the past 400 years. The destruction of Ukrainian national memory is part of this policy, and Russifi cation is one of its main mechanisms.
