Abstract

The theses indicate that for high school students testing was gradually introduced instead of entrance examinations to higher education institutions; the Ukrainian center for assessing the quality of education was established and external independent assessment (UPE test) was launched in the Ukrainian language, mathematics and history of Ukraine, which were mandatory for entering a higher education institution, and other disciplines necessary for entering an institution applicants had the opportunity to choose higher education.
