Abstract
In the article the problem of coming-to-be of self-improvement process has considered. Interconnection between self-improvement process and valued orientations of personality has been traced. The conceptual approaches to the definition of the psychological content of the phenomenon have been analyzed. Has been proved, that in this process special part has been playing by the personality notions about values constellation which he/she identifies him/herself with. Exactly values determine peculiarities and type of interrelations between individual and his/her environment, surroundings which in its turn determine his/her conduct. Successful development of self-improvement process of personality for the most part has been conditioned in particular by his/her need to self-determine in it and opportunities to self-affirm in the society in accordance with his/her values.
