Abstract

These guidelines clearly state the urgency of the problems of social work at the present day Ukrainian society; they address such topics of social work as a teaching discipline, and a professional activity, especially. In this paper the conceptual categorical apparatus of social work is considered in details. In addition, it propose methods for studying social work as used to be experience in the US, as well as provides recommendations how to study different sources such as international and national documents, curricula, programs, textbooks, manuals, tests and statistic data. In these guidelines one can find the main tendencies of social work development in contemporary world cultural and educational environment, the role of the state in creation and support of the system of social care, and problems of the relationship of professional and volunteer social work are presented. This work is amid for scholars and pedagogues, graduate students, doctoral students, teachers and students of universities etc.
