Abstract

Strategic planning is a crucial aspect in the activities of each firm, since its future depends on it. The paper is concerned with the essence and significance of strategic planning for the firms operating in the uncertain environment, and the principal stages of the strategic planning process. A firm gains an opportunity to consider timely the factors providing favorable conditions for effective performance through planning in the course of business. The essence of strategic planning is also revealed by means of relationship analysis of terms and concepts.
