Abstract

The article substantiates the psychological and pedagogical aspects of the competency-based approach in school economic education in the process of the formation of the personality of high school students, their self-realization and professional self-affirmation. The characteristic of the relationship of key competencies and transversal competency, which provides a «transfer of training.» The concept of «entrepreneurial competence» and its formation with the aim of preparing high school students for professional activities in the economic sphere are disclosed; the role of courses by choice in teaching economics is determined and the results of their implementation in high school are analyzed.
