Abstract

The article is related to the problem of school bio logical education’s content formation in Ukraine an independent Ukrainian state (since 1991). The article reveals the essence of the main determinants of school biological education's content formation in Ukraine, basing on the critical analysis of normative-conceptual documents (laws, concepts, state standards of education, curriculums in biology), scientifi works on the theory and methods of teaching biology. The explored topics include: standardization of the content of education, the implementation of a competent approach, the development of biological science, humanization and humanization of education, the impact of the results of international monitoring studies on the quality of Natural science educa tion. The brief: there is a description of the inflence of each determinant on the school biological education's content formation in the period 1990 till now. Additionally, in article were noted the further prospects of studying the problem of school biological education’s contentformation.
